The Balance - Episode 4: Wellness, Community, Fitness & Balance

Finding Balance with Sean K. Perry of MegaLit Fitness

In this week’s episode of The Balance, I had the pleasure of speaking with Sean K. Perry, owner of MegaLit Fitness in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood. From the moment we started, it was clear that Sean isn’t just passionate about fitness—he’s passionate about helping people transform their bodies and their minds.

Sean shared his journey from Brooklyn, where he dreamed of becoming a professional athlete, through football and bodybuilding, to eventually finding his calling in fitness. After years of training others for free and working in the corporate world, he asked himself the pivotal question: “What can I do that I love, no matter the income?” That question led to MegaLit Fitness, which just celebrated its sixth anniversary—a testament to Sean’s dedication and vision.

At the center of MegaLit is the Lagree Method, a high-intensity, low-impact workout performed on the Megaformer. Sean explained how it’s unique because it combines strength, endurance, cardio, flexibility, and body composition in one session. The slow, controlled movements challenge your muscles and mind simultaneously. He says it’s not just a workout—it’s a mental training tool. Athletes and everyday fitness enthusiasts alike experience the same physical and mental growth, each at their own pace.

What struck me most was how MegaLit isn’t just about fitness—it’s a community and a culture. From the instructors to the members, there’s a focus on support, encouragement, and building confidence. Sean’s philosophy is simple but powerful: “It’s about outcome, not income.” The goal is seeing real transformation, whether that’s improved strength, flexibility, or mental clarity.

I can personally attest to the impact of Lagree. After just a few classes, I’ve felt stronger, more focused, and more aware of my body than ever before. And as I continue my journey, I’m reminded that the slow, precise movements aren’t just building muscle—they’re teaching discipline, patience, and mindfulness.

MegaLit also offers personal training, boxing, meditation, and wellness resources, making it more than a fitness studio—it’s a hub for health, community, and growth. Whether you’re a beginner, a professional athlete, or recovering from injury, Sean and his team tailor the experience to help you reach your highest potential safely.
